How it started..
After serving 4 years of active-duty in the United States Marine Corps, our Founder (Aaron) worked for almost 20 years as a Principal at a large executive search firm in the Washington D.C. area. In 2006 (the year Youtube started), Aaron made his first video of an Aruba vacation with his girlfriend. He posted the video on Youtube and a few months later, Marriott found their video and offered the couple a free all-expenses paid trip back to the resort. They put out a press release announcing that a “Youtuber” helped the brand realize the importance of social media, specifically guest perspective videos, and the impact that social media would have on the Marriott brand moving forward. Social media was still very new at the time so Marriott was just beginning to discover how it would come to be a game changer and why they needed to have a big voice in it. That story landed on the front page of USA Today and the experience was so exciting that Aaron kept making videos, but just for fun.
Fast forward to 2015, Travel Channel found a Grand Canyon vacation recap that Aaron posted on his Youtube page. This location wasn’t your typical place in the Grand Canyon though. This was a hidden oasis deep within the canyon walls on an Indian reservation, and it’s called “Havasupai”. The river & waterfalls have Bahamas blue water due to a mineral that turns it blue and it only spans for a few miles so it’s one of America’s best kept secrets. Travel Channel purchased Aaron’s footage and created a TV pilot around the concept of different groups of friends adventuring around to find “secret swimming holes”. They aired the pilot and it tested well so they asked Aaron to shoot more episodes. At the time, he still had an office job but he took a sabbatical to shoot the show and after 4 successful seasons, getting a taste of video production as an actual job, and traveling around the world..he decided to leave office life and start a new adventure with his own production company.
Since forming Schwartzy in 2018, Aaron has gone through two passports, worked with major brands and celebrities, won an Emmy Award, created numerous TV series, and helped tons of companies grow and scale their business.
The adventure continues…
